Coming Soon: Bella Gioia Bringing Sicilian Cuisine To 4th Avenue By Early November

Construction sheds have gone up around the rustic blue storefront at 209 4th Avenue at Union Street, and some phone calls revealed that the spot is being readied for its new tenant, Sicilian restaurant Bella Gioia.

Chef/owner Nico Daniele, a second-generation Sicilian-American from Staten Island, tells us the place will specialize in Sicilian comfort food, with dishes like Pasta Con Sarde (“a staple dish of Sicily,” he says), panelle, and roasted lamb. They will also sell cured meats and aged cheeses. As for the drinks, the menu will be complemented by a full bar, with “unique cocktails,” rare Italian beers, and finely curated wines.

Nico tells us they will open in early November- just in time for comfort food weather. It will be a nice addition to the intersection, which- between Fort Reno, Palo Santo, and the newest addition of Dinosaur BBQ- is becoming quite the culinary hub.
